I'm not an American, in fact I've never even been there (and frankly I don't think I ever will), but like most people I am completely appalled by the tenure in office of Mr. George "Dubya" Bush - a man who makes the most notorious dictators in history look tame by comparison.
I thought I knew quite a bit about how corrupt and evil Dubya was, until I came across a Blog called Monkey Lunch, which recites a litany of scandals against El Presidente several miles long.
Here's a sample:
Spent the U.S. surplus and bankrupted the US Treasury
Shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in history (not easy!)
Set all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the US stock market
After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, presided over the worst security failure in US history
Presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed
Set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest him (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind
Dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history
Made his presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in US history
The first president in US history to compel the United Nations remove the US from the Human Rights Commission
Rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant. Withdrew from the World Court of Law
Refused to allow inspectors access to US prisoners of war and by default no longer abided by the Geneva Conventions
The biggest lifetime contributor to his campaign, who is also one of his best friends, presided over one of the largest corporate bankruptcy frauds in world history (Kenneth Lay, former CEO of Enron Corporation)
The first US president to establish a secret shadow government
The first US president in history to have a majority of the people of Europe (71%) view his presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and stability
Changed US policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts
Removed more freedoms and civil liberties for Americans than any other president in US history
All records of his tenure as governor of Texas have been spirited away to his fathers library, sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view
All records of his SEC investigations into his insider trading or bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view
And two essential ones that seem missing:
- Refused point blank to ratify the Kyoto treaty, thus condemning the world to being poisoned by 6 billion tonnes of Greenhouse Gases per annum from the US - the world's biggest polluter
- Declared himself above the law, refusing to obey any law he deemed "unconstitutional"
The sooner that moronic tyrant is out of office, the better for everyone.
