Something went wrong with my vista

I bought my PC in May 2009. It all went well until last month when suddenly 

Windows Vista (TM)
Build 6002
This copy of Windows is not Genuine

Appeared in the lower right corner just above the toolbar and need to be activate.

I try to activate it but the product key is invalid.

Please help how to resolve this problem I only got few more days to activate my Vista.____________________________________________________________________

An unauthorized change was made to windows Error: 0x80070426 the service has not been started

After running for a few years now with no recent hardware changes I started getting this error message. I have already checked software licensing services and it is set to automatic. If I attempt to start the service, I get

"windows could not start the Software Licensing service on Local Computer.  Error 9xd0000022: 0xd0000022"

If I attempt to start the service as an admin from the cmd prompt, I get:

The Software licensing service is starting.

The Software Licensing service could not be started.

A system error has occurred

System error 34 has occurred.

The wrong diskette is in the drive.

Insert *** <Volume Serial Number: ***>  into drive ***.

Computer suddenly says my Windows isn't genuine.

I've had this computer for 5 years now and suddenly it says my Windows is not genuine. My background is completely black and my computer keeps giving me alerts to activate Windows. There is no error code on the screen. On the bottom right of my screen it says:

Windows Vista (TM)

Build 6002

This copy of Windows is not genuine

I talked to a Windows representative who validated that my Windows is genuine and that some repairs need to be made. He referred me to this help reference.

i have the key from a built-in Windows vista 32 bit but when i used 64 bit installer it says the key is already in used. i cant stop thinking of the key might used by other person without my knowledge, or simply because the key is limited to 32 bit?  Any assist in here is so much appreciated.

Unable to uninstall Symantec in safe mode

I wanted to uninstall Symantec antivirus on our Vista home premium laptop because of the incompatability problem documented already.

However, coming up in safe mode, when I tried to uninstall (via control panel), I got the dialog box with the message: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.

Not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

Word won't work

I had to set my Dell back to factory settings and now I can't use the Office Home and Student 2007 program that was on the computer. I tried the 'key' that is on the computer case and the one that is on the disc cover. How do I get the program(s) to work? I tried using the disc to 'repair' the problem but it still requires a key to even open the programs. Please help!

I have a production server that I can't login cause it says that "a change not authorized was performed in windows" (something like that, due to windows is in spanish and i'm trying to translate)......so, I'm worried a lot cause I have a database with tables with more  than 200 million entries......

Thanks in advance, I'd hope to have a quick resolution cause I think I'm not going to sleep until the problem it's fixed  :)

Reactivation after Factory Image Restore and motherboard replacement

[first time post-er]
I have a Compaq Presario sr5210nx desktop computer with Vista Home Premium OEM installed. This machine was given to me by a friend, as they were having problems with it and upgraded to a newer computer.  I decided to do a Restore of the factory image contained on the hidden partition about three weeks ago.  At the time, I assumed it was still a valid installation and not in need of re-activation.  I did not get any notification pop-ups and I must confess that I also didn't check on the activation status on the System Properties page, either. I guess I assumed that since the computer had been pre-activated when new  I didn't even think of checking after the factory restore.
After about a week of use, the motherboard was "fried" by what I ultimately discovered was a defective power supply, which I now believe was the source of the problems experienced by the previous user. The machine would no longer boot up, even when I replaced the power supply with a compatible known good unit. I therefore ordered a new motherboard, the same make and model as the old board [Intel 945gct-hm]. This board was not, however, an OEM replacement from HP.
My research at the time suggested that I could replace the motherboard with the same make and model without the need to re-activate Vista. However, just yesterday [one week after replacing the motherboard and installing a new power supply] I noticed on the System Properties page that I had 8 days left to Activate. If the Initial Grace Period is 30 days,  then the countdown clock was started when I restored the factory image approximately 3 weeks ago. Evidently, the fact that I also replaced the defective motherboard and power supply in the interim did not restart the 30 day clock.
In reading other posts on this forum, I downloaded the MGA Diagnostic and ran it.
The Validation status shows "genuine" but at the bottom of the report in the OEM Activation 2.0 Data area it states: "BIOS valid for OA 2.0: yes, but no SLIC table".  I am assuming the missing SLIC Table had been present in the BIOS chip of the old motherboard but not in the new one. Am I correct?
The Activation Wizard fails with the following Error Code: 0xC004E003  -- "SLIC reports license evaluation failed".
Will I be able to resolve this issue over the phone with Microsoft and get the Vista OS re-activated?  I have already called HP Tech Support and they said they could handle this problem for a service contract fee of $49.99 which would involve remote assistance, or a one time fee of $99 just to take care of re-activation.

Windows Vista: Build 6002; This copy is not genuine error, how to fix?

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows Vista. The laptop is four years old and I have owned it since new. I ran the diagnostic report, as requested in this forum, and have copied it below.

Other info: I can no longer read the Windows license number on the bottom of my laptop, I run Norton 360 on my computer, there was a Windows (I think) update two days ago just before the problems happened and I also loaded Turbotax a day later.

In looking at other postings, I did try recovery manager to reset the system to just before the last windows update. It looked like things worked ok but then after restarting again, the same problem was back.

Windows Vista validation issue

Hi , my computer is showing  this massege at the bottom right corner please activate your windows ( Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002, this copy of windows is not genuine. Can someone please help on how to fix this problem.

Windows Vista Not Genuine all of a sudden

I have read through many of these topics.  I believe i need assistance.  This is a 2009 Dell Iinspiron with Windows Home Basic.  Today out of the blue I get a Windows Vista Build 6002 This copy of Windows is not genuine.  It most certainly is and it came preloaded with my Dell.  I cannot use my computer as it is now.  Please advise.  Here is a copy of my diagnostics.  Thank you.

AVG and vista business incompatibility?

I have today logged onto my computer and found that I have errors stating that I have unauthorised changes and the Oxc004d401 error that everyone seems to have. 

I've spent ages on live chat with AVG trying to resolve issue in case it was a clash. They say my paid for copy is complete and working fine, and there are no issues with Vista. 

I've tried re-validating my copy of windows, but the error message keeps coming up and stops the process after I've downloaded the windows program. Have also tried running a system repair via AVG and this seems ok. 

I've also noticed that my Aero has disappeared. 

I have no idea why this has happened this morning but it's really frustrating.
